IMS-CS Overview
Protocom's Intelligent Messaging System - Connectivity Switch (IMS-CS) is an extremely high performance messaging gateway for sending, routing and receiving SMS, email and MMS messages. The system offers an alternative to Protocom's IMS for Mobile Operators requiring a higher message throughput and network expansion options in preference to features and extensive routing options.
IMS-CS efficiently routes messages either as a single node or a distributed system. In its distributed form, IMS-CS is able to fully utilise hardware resources and facilitate network expansion simply through the addition of machines. The gateway also provides a single access point for inbound connections to an underlying SMSC and MMSC infrastructure.
Key Benefits
- Low capital and operational costs
- Optimised routing rules enable extremely efficient message switching
- Message rate throttling for Application Providers facilitates charging levels based on allowed message rates
- Modular architecture enables rapid development of interface protocol add-ons
- Configurable load balancing and redundancy options allow easy management of network resources and expansion of network.
- Scaleable to 100 000s of messages/sec
